Threats to the biome:
The biggest threats to old-growth forests in Australia are from fires and diseases (e.g. Phytophthora - a root rot fungus). Other threats are bushfires studies show that in Victoria and New South Wales alone huge areas of old growth forest have been burned down and adjusted to be made into bare land for farming or constructing a factory or dwellings. Logging continues to be severe issue in Australian old growth forest. Acid rain is a rare occurrence in Australia but still a severe one Acid Rain is responsible for the destruction of enormous pieces of old growth forest.
Food produced:
Foods that are produced in old growth forest are wild fruits corn, avocados, onions, tomatoes, eggplants, berries, peppers, ginger, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa, and even kola nut (which is used to flavour cola drinks)
